The Franklin County Department of Job and Family Services (FCDJFS) in partnership with the Workforce Development Board of Central Ohio (WDBCO) is soliciting written information from local private for-profit agencies, private non-profit organizations, government agencies, faith or community-based organizations or educational institutions that demonstrate the capacity to successfully provide the following services to youth ages 14 through 24:

  • Alternative School Services or Dropout Recovery Services assist youth who have struggled in traditional secondary education or who have dropped out of school


  • Adult Mentoring is a formal relationship between a youth and an adult mentor with structured activities where the mentor offers guidance, support, and encouragement


  • Comprehensive Guidance and Counseling provides individualized counseling to participants, including drug/alcohol and mental health counseling


  • Entrepreneurial Skills Training provides the basics of starting and operating a small business and develops entrepreneurial skills


  • Leadership Development encourage responsibility, confidence, employability, self-determination, and other positive social behaviors


  • Paid and Unpaid Work Experiences is a structured learning experience in a workplace and provides opportunities for career exploration and skill development


  • Post Secondary help youth prepare for and transition to post-secondary education and training


  • Tutoring Study Skills Drop Out Prevention activities that lead to completion of a high school diploma or recognized equivalent

Responses to each RFI must be submitted no later than 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, on January 31, 2018. RFI submissions will be accepted as email attachments only.  All responses must be sent to the WDBCO Director of Policy & Initiatives using email address, with appropriate RFI service title in the subject line. An email confirmation of receipt from WDBCO will be sent within a one-week period to the designated point of contact.

The RFI may be downloaded from the WDBCO website at  This is a Request for Information (RFI) only and does not constitute a commitment, implied or otherwise, that FCDJFS nor the WDBCO will take procurement action in this matter. Further, neither FCDJFS nor the WDBCO will be responsible for any cost incurred in furnishing this information
